We attract a lively and friendly congregation, from the local area and further away. We celebrate Holy Communion at 10am every Sunday; have a regular Sunday school, and a family service once a month. At all our services, there is an area for the very young to occupy themselves safely during the worship.

We try to meet the needs of the older members who are residents of the Court of Lady Katherine Leveson, and children, through the Lady Katherine Leveson Primary School, whose pupils and staff attend for a weekly service every Thursday during the school term.

Some members of the congregation have been part of the life and worship of St. Mary's for a number of years. Some have joined the life and worship very recently. We encourage a growing number of children to be involved in the life and worship of the congregation of St. Mary's.

We foster an open, thoughtful and positive attitude to faith in the in the modern world, taking account of the realities of our lives and of the fundamentals of the Christian way. Pastoral needs are met with compassion. Baptisms, marriages and funerals are given attentive and sympathetic care.

Our beautiful church (see picture gallery)  is often open. You are welcome to come inside to pray or meditate.

St Peter Balsall Common

Balsall Street East Balsall Common Coventry

http://www.spcbalsall.church

St Peter's stands on the south-west edge of the growing 'village' of Balsall Common, but aspires to be at the heart of the community and to bring the message of Christ to all who live nearby. It combines a tradition of 'high church' observance with recognition of modern needs and a desire to reach out to all who need Christ, working with other churches in our 'cluster' area. We support youth work through the Churches Together Y7+ group, and also offer a variety of activities for young people at most of our main services as well as for Y6 kids after school in termtime through The Rock club.

There are also social activities for all ages, including 'mothers and toddlers', older people, and young people. We have a very active social programme and welcome visitors and newcomers! An active programme of evangelistic activity is getting underway, and you may already have had a visit one Saturday in our 'Say One for Me' programme - if not, we hope to see you soon .....

Our newly refurbished building has an accessible level floor, comfortable chairs, better audiovisual system and redecorated interior! We hope our services combine a warm welcome and an informal feel with proper reverence and worship (and activities for Youth & Children). Our main Sunday service starts at 9.30. There are some later services at 11:00am, as well as two 8:00am services each month. We are introducing some more innovative services especially on the "fifth Sunday" of the month, and we do seek to provide a varied selection of services to meet the diverse needs of local people. If you need a lift to get to a service, please ring 01676532389 and we shall try to arrange one. With the local Methodist Church, we also provide outreach services at the Harper Fields (Barchester) Care Home, on one Friday morning every month. If you are interested, please contact us or see the 'Calendar' of "Services and Events"

We look forward to expanding our activities under the "Lycig" (Leading your church into growth) initiative. We hope you will feel free to visit our church and become part of this too!

St Peter's is concerned to safeguard young people and vulnerable adults: we have a strong Child Protection Policy and dedicated safeguarding officers. If you are concerned about abuse or neglect relating to a young person, or vulnerable adult who attends our church please send a confidential e-mail to our Safeguarding-email ([email protected]) and we shall contact you. A copy of our Child Protection and Vulnerable Adult policies and contact details are available on the 'Safeguarding' page of our 'New' website - www.spcbalsall.church  (or see menu of 'Pages and Links' in the lefthand Sidebar for contacts) <<<<<<<<
